From the restaurant's website:"Nava Thai is a family owned restaurant established two years ago in Wheaton, Maryland. Husband and wife, Suchart and Ladavan Srigatesook, are well-known for their Thai cooking expertise from cooking for the local Thai restaurants for over 20 years. Until recently, they decided to open the most authentic Thai restaurant in DC Metro region, with the initial goal of attracting local Thais who miss street foods in their homeland. At Nava (which means "boat") Thai, we offer spicy and flavorful Thai food resembling to what is found on the popular food-stalls in Bangkok."
Full bar. Serving lunch and dinner daily. No. 33 on Washingtonian's 100 Very Best Restaurants of 2009. Voted Best Thai Restaurant in the 2009 City Paper critics' poll.
"I know of prettier places to eat duck stir-fried with basil, and friendlier servers than the ones who watch over this hidden shoebox. But when I'm craving a taste of Thailand, I tend to set my GPS to Wheaton and Nava Thai."– Tom Sietsema, The Washington Post, Oct. 12, 2008 (two and a half stars)

Restaurants in the nation's capital have been hosting the power elite for a couple of centuries, and boardinghouse-turned-saloon Old Ebbitt Grill has served most of them since the days of President Ulysses S. Grant.
