If you haven't experienced Ethiopian cuisine, Zed's is a fine place to jump right in. To begin, try one of the wats, a curry-like stew of vegetables and/or meats that are richly spiced. Wats are soaked up by pieces of springy, tangy injera, a fermented, crêpe-like bread. Helpful servers will guide you through the menu. You may prefer to be steered toward less exotic fare, such as shrimp sautéed with onions and tomatoes, or spiced whole fish. Vegetarians will leave happy: There's a whole list of vegetable and legume wats and alechas (another stew). The spiced ground beef dish kitfo is a favorite. But order it medium rare, unless you know for a fact you like it tartare (or are very adventurous). Full bar. Serving lunch and dinner daily.
