Blue skies. White village walls. Blue urns. Flowers. Exceptionally pretty inside, Mykonos Grill in Rockville looks as if it had been transplanted from the Aegean Sea to suburban Maryland. The décor signals something special is awaiting. The beauty of Greek food is its simplicity, and Mykonos Grill's competent handling brings out the best in the freshest ingredients. Begin the meal with a starter such as stuffed mushrooms, spanakopita or stuffed grape leaves. What brings many to the door of Mykonos is the whole fish, which grilled and dressed with olive oil, lemon juice and fresh herbs. Lamb is another feature, especially lamb chops, which get the same delicate handling on the grill and gentle touch of seasoning. And if you're in the celebration mode, get the dessert for two – a sampler plate of baklava, walnut cake, ice cream and galaktobouriko (honey-soaked pastry filled with custard). In nice weather, choose the outdoor seating. Full bar. Reservations suggested. Serving lunch and dinner Tue–Sun. Closed Mon.
