Lebanese Taverna is so laid-back, casual and tasty that you don't really need to love Middle Eastern or vegetarian-friendly food to eat here. The appetizer samplers, mezze, are great for beginning a meal, or just get three or four (or six) of them for a meal. There's a lot for vegetarians and vegetable lovers on the Lebanese Taverna menu, including a stuffed vegetable of the day, plenty of eggplant dishes and some of the pies, which are pizza-like in flavor if not appearance. For carnivores, there's lamb every way – stewed, braised, grilled and made into patties. The kitchen isn't shy with authentic Lebanese ingredients such as zaatar, sumac and pomegranates, which give the food a leg up on your average gyro place. The Lebanese Taverna "café" shops in Rockville, Silver Spring and Annapolis lack table service but have a pretty good selection from the full restaurant menus and a short wine list. Full bar at the full service locations. Generally serving lunch Mon–Sat, dinner nightly. Hours vary by location.
