Open since 1948, Bob Heilman's Beachcomber Restaurant has a breathtaking view of Clearwater Beach. Patrons find comfort in the old-fashioned, traditional American menu and the uniquely decorated dining rooms featuring model sailboats, a live piano bar and a central fireplace surrounded by booths. For dinner, choose from appetizers such as fried onion rings or clams casino with three peppers in garlicky butter. The Back-To-The-Farm Chicken is a local favorite (and a Heilman family recipe since 1910). Other excellent choices are the veal piccata, sautéed chicken livers with mushrooms and the Beachcomber Seafood Platter.
Full bar. Serving lunch and dinner daily. One of the St. Petersburg Times's Top 100 Restaurants of 2009.
