Since its first location opened in 1935, Culpeppers has made its reputation as the place to go for hearty American Traditional food, and, in more recent years, has evolved into the city's top purveyor of Buffalo wings. The locally owned and operated restaurant has branched off into a number of area locations, while the original Euclid Avenue eatery remains a St. Louis institution for good finger-lickin' chicken eatin'. The moist, meaty wings feature a crispy crust and a spicy, buttery sauce outside. The rest of a lengthy menu includes offerings such as appetizer combo platters (wings, stuffed mushrooms and onion rings), burgers, seafood and St. Louis-style pizzas. The much-recommended club sandwich is massive, as well as the hearty fried chicken salad. Douse the flames in your wing-scorched mouth with a brownie sundae. Voted Best Chicken Wings (tie) in 2008 Riverfront Times readers' poll. Full bar. Kids menu. Serving lunch and dinner daily.
