Chef/owner Holly Smith took over Cafe Juanita – one of Seattle's most reliably superb restaurants in neighboring suburban Kirkland – in 2000, and since then has created an innovative menu celebrating both northern Italy's cuisine and the bounty of the Northwest. Serenely located on the edge of Juanita Creek, the café's cozy, softly lit dining room overlooks a garden that provides many ingredients for the menu. Full bar. Serving dinner Tue–Sun. Closed Mon. Honors include James Beard Foundation's Best Chef: Northwest winner, 2008. One of Seattle magazine's 79 Best Restaurants of 2009.
