Cafe Flora is a vegetarian restaurant that even a devoted meat eater will enjoy. Locals congregate in droves to get a taste of the highbrow vegetarian cuisine with international twists, but the unpretentious dining room feels more like your mother's kitchen than a restaurant. The menu is seasonal and changes weekly with the exception of some customer favorites. Many items are available vegan or gluten-free. Entrées include Oaxaca tacos (corn tortillas filled with mashed potatoes, cheddar and smoky mozzarella), portobello Wellington (grilled portobello mushrooms, leeks and mushroom-pecan pâté in a puff pastry with Madeira wine sauce) and pumpkin risotto cakes. A wildly popular weekend brunch includes beignets, vegan sticky buns, peach pancakes and breakfast quesadillas. Beer and wine available. Serving lunch Mon–Fri, dinner nightly. Brunch Sat–Sun 9 am-2 pm. Voted Best Vegetarian Restaurant in the 2009 Seattle Weekly readers' poll.
