Cafe Flora is a vegetarian restaurant that even a devoted meat eater will enjoy. Locals congregate in droves to get a taste of the highbrow vegetarian cuisine with international twists, but the unpretentious dining room feels more like your mother's kitchen than a restaurant. The menu is seasonal and changes weekly with the exception of some customer favorites. Many items are available vegan or gluten-free. Entrées include Oaxaca tacos (corn tortillas filled with mashed potatoes, cheddar and smoky mozzarella), portobello Wellington (grilled portobello mushrooms, leeks and mushroom-pecan pâté in a puff pastry with Madeira wine sauce) and pumpkin risotto cakes. A wildly popular weekend brunch (9 am–2pm) includes beignets, vegan sticky buns, peach pancakes and breakfast quesadillas. Beer and wine available. Serving lunch Mon–Fri, dinner nightly. Voted Best Vegetarian Restaurant in the 2009 Seattle Weekly readers' poll.
