A curious thing about Krungthai: Two of the within a block or so of one another on Winchester Boulevard. The more upscale second location — called New Krungthai, with a similar menu but separate website — opened in 1999. (There's a third location in Mountain View.) Décor at Krungthai is clean and simple — the focus is on the food and proficient service. Try calamari stuffed with pork and topped with green curry, or red curry prawns with pineapple and coconut milk. Vegetarian dishes include spicy tofu with chili and garlic, coconut milk soup with vegetables, and Chinese broccoli and black mushrooms with oyster sauce. There are also salads, pad thai and other noodle dishes. Voted Best Thai Restaurant in Metro Active's 2007 readers poll. Beer and wine available. Serving lunch and dinner daily. Closed between meals on weekdays.
