Small, local Indian/Pakistani casual-restaurant chain Naan 'n' Curry is a favorite of budget-conscious professionals and university students during the day, and socialites at night. Affectionately nicknamed N 'n' C, the whole place smells wondrously of the tandoori spices simmering in the kitchen, so much that patrons sometimes carry the scent with them well after they leave. The chicken vindaloo is spicier than most — be sure to order plenty of naan. The soft bread comes in ground beef, onion, potato, garlic and whole-wheat varieties, and is a great tool for sopping up sauces during a meal. Lamb dishes are the favorite of many locals, including the ghobi ghost with cauliflower or the lamb curry. Biryanis, tikka masala, seafood, and vegetable curries round out the menu. Finish your meal with a delightful, milkshake-like mango lassi. Voted Best Indian Restaurant in the 2007 San Francisco Weekly readers poll. Delivery available. BYOB.
