Everything about Hash House A Go Go is big: Big portions. Big waits. Big fun. In fact, chefs and co-owners Craig "Andy" Beardslee and Johnny Rivera's two-point mission statement centers on putting the fun back into food and the dining experience in general. The early morning lines of anxious diners wrapping around their legendary Hillcrest eatery prove the success of their mantra. Gourmet Midwestern comfort food comes in the form of pizza-sized flapjacks for breakfast, the BBBLT (with three servings of bacon) for lunch, and gargantuan cuts of crispy stuffed pork tenderloin for dinner. Just be prepared to share a meal or bring home leftovers. Full bar. Serving breakfast and lunch daily, dinner Tue–Sun (closed Mon nights). Sat–Sun brunch 7:30 am–2:30 pm. Voted Best Sunday Brunch in the 2008 City Beat readers' poll and Best Breakfast in the 2009 San Diego magazine readers' poll.
