Brothers Samir, Joe, Mounir and DeGaulle Saleh bring the authentic taste of their native Lebanon to the Triangle. Originally just a bakery, Neomonde has expanded to include a number of Middle Eastern entrées and hot dishes, as well as a second location in Morrisville. Both atmospheres retain the casual ambiance and sparse sleekness of a deli — you are free to browse the shelves full of spices, pastries and snacks while you wait — and both lunch and dinner fare are well worth the visit. The vegetable lasagna and the spinach, meat and cheese pies are just as flavorful as their aromas suggest, while the classic falafel and house-made hummus are not to be missed. Cabbage salad and chicken salad are fresh and reliable choices for cold items. If you’d like, ask for a taste test first — the friendly staff at Neomonde is happy to oblige. Also feel free to request any vegetarian or vegan substitutions. No alcohol available. Kids' menu. Serving lunch and dinner daily. Voted Best Middle Eastern in the 2009 Independent Weekly readers' poll.
