Portland's Good Dog/Bad Dog carries the dog theme to the hilt, featuring framed photos of celebrity canines and serving some of the best – and hottest – hot dogs and sausages in the area. Regulars go for specialty house-made sausages in oversized buns topped with sauerkraut, chili or garlic. Try the signature Oregon Smokey sausage mixed with garlic, blackstrap molasses and cayenne pepper; the self-explanatory garlic dog; and the magma dog, a spicy Italian sausage with onions, spicy even for true connoisseurs after asking for the "face melter" side of extra peppers and hot sauce. Other options include the bratreuben, which is a butterflied bratwurst topped with grilled sauerkraut, melted Swiss cheese and Thousand Island dressing, or the sweet Italian sausage with plenty of herbs and spices.
