Perched atop Mount Washington, the original Monterey Bay Fish Grotto – it has expanded to Monroeville as well – brings sea level to new heights with its panoramic view of downtown Pittsburgh and superbly prepared seafood. The glass-enclosed interior shows off the views, particularly at sunset, making Monterey Bay one of the area's most romantic dining spots. Start with house-smoked salmon or ahi tempura. Entrées specialize in a variety of fish flown in fresh daily from both coasts and served either charbroiled or sautéed with a variety of sauces. Look for Florida mako shark, Idaho rainbow trout, Hawaiian ahi or Florida mahi mahi. Steaks, chicken and a few pasta dishes are also available. Full bar. Serving lunch Mon–Fri, dinner nightly.
