Bloomfield Bridge Tavern in Pittsburgh's Little Italy neighborhood is the kind of welcoming, nothing-fancy joint that you can't help but love. The walls are adorned with colorful coats of arms from Polish towns and vintage photos of local sports legends. The lively, well-stocked full bar features at least 10 specialty beers on draft and a wealth of bottled beers, both domestic and imported. And it's a wonderful place to dine on inexpensive, rib-sticking Polish food. The small menu features pierogies, stuffed cabbage, haluski (noodles and cabbage) and kielbasa, some of which can be sampled by ordering the bargain-priced Polish Platter. For a walk on the wilder side, there's traditional duck blood soup. Live music. Full bar. Serving lunch, dinner and late-night Mon–Sat. Closed Sun. Voted Best Polish Restaurant in the 2008 Pittsburgh magazine readers poll. Voted Best Place to Get a Pierogie in 2007 City Paper readers poll.
