Housed in a century-old creamery and warehouse in Tempe and now with a Scottsdale location, Four Peaks Brewing Company produces 10,000 barrels of beer annually, about 20,000 kegs. Besides providing beer for the Four Peaks brewpubs, that's enough to also supply bars and restaurants throughout Arizona. The high, red brick and wooden ceiling and 72-foot bar of the original brewpub add to the lively atmosphere, with drink specials daily from midafternoon to dinner and after 10 pm at both locations. Four Peaks serves only their own handcrafted brews, which have won both gold and bronze medals from the World Beer Cup for the Hop Knot IPA and Hopsquatch Barleywine. Up to 10 different varieties — eight staples and two seasonals — are available on tap daily. Four Peaks' worthy, classic American pub menu offers an eclectic selection of appetizers, soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches and pizzas. Starters range from garlic cheese beer bread and Buffalo wings to spicy Thai hummus and buffalo tostadas. Half-pound burgers and beer bread sandwiches pair perfectly with house drafts, as do traditional fish and chips and barbecue chicken pizza. Desserts include the Oatmeal Stout shake, which mixes vanilla bean ice cream with the house Oatmeal Stout beer. Full bar. Serving lunch, dinner and late-night daily. Sun brunch 10 am-2 pm.
