Best Yugoslavian
Top 100 Restaurant, Philadelphia
"Up in Kensington at the site of a former neighborhood corner bar, you'll find a family restaurant dishing out enormous portions of Yugoslav fare. Dishes like schnitzel, goulash and stuffed cabbage are prepared in the back by Jovan's parents (the father is purportedly a former butcher). The chicken sandwich, marinated in white wine and olive oil, grilled, and served with Dijon sauce, is a neighborhood legend. On two separate occasions, Jovan himself (who also takes orders and helps with the service) sat down with us post-meal and shared blackberry liqueur homemade by his mother."
