Despite its Universal City Walk location, Emeril's Orlando draws a significant local crowd in addition to the host of tourists. All are willing to make the months-in-advance reservations necessary to obtain a seat in the celebrity chef's dining room. Emeril Lagasse's first Florida restaurant boasts eye-catching contemporary décor with bright colors and a central metal staircase leading to the top floor. The hip atmosphere proves the ideal setting for Emeril's acclaimed New Orleans cuisine with his signature bold flavors and exceptional presentation. Try starters such as barbecue shrimp or andouille sausage sweet potatoes for a gourmet kick-start to your meal. Main courses, priced per person, are too good to share: We recommend double-cut pork chops or andouille-crusted redfish in particular. Anything with Emeril's andouille sausage is a winner here, in fact, as are creative seafood dishes complemented by inventive sides, from sweet corn, spinach and Brie flan to cheese grits. The menu changes seasonally. And if you've never liked banana cream pie, you've obviously never had Emeril's banana cream pie. The full bar features New Orleans-style cocktails, choices from the 10,000-plus wine and champagne cellar, and premium cigars from the restaurant's extensive collection. And know before you go: You'll pay for soda refills and top-dollar parking (unless you're coming straight from the Universal lot). Don't forget to confirm your reservations the day of, or you will be dropped from the list. Dress is business casual. Reservations required. Full bar. Serving lunch daily, dinner Sun–Thu. Closed between meals.
