Hailed as the country's top spot for barbecue by the Food Network and CNN, and touted by other national publications such as The New York Times, Southern Living and Fortune magazine, Bubbalou's Bodacious Bar-B-Que has never been a discreet little joint down the road. Three giant, sunglass-toting piglets dancing over a fire pit have welcomed customers since its 1986 founding in Winter Park. Now with a handful of locations throughout central Florida, this no-nonsense barbecue house keeps 'em coming back with its extensive list of Southern dinners and combos. Grab a wooden picnic table and a plate piled high with fried catfish, sliced chicken or any of Bubbalou's famed smoked meats. Speaking of which: You name it, they smoke it. We're talking pig, cow or poultry, thigh, gizzard or liver. Hot sauces from mild to killer add some kick to your meal, as do any of the classic Southern fixings such as sweet potatoes, fried pickles, baked beans and corn on the cob. Brunswick stew may just be the best item on the menu, or the finger-licking-good baby back ribs. Just don't forget a slice or six of the delicious house-made corn bread to soak up every last drop. Beer and wine available. Kids menu. Serving lunch and dinner daily. Voted Best Barbecue in the 2008 Orlando Weekly and 2009 Orlando Sentinel readers polls.
