Started by former railroad inspector Loc Le in 1980 as a small 50-seat restaurant at 1616 North May Avenue, Jimmy's Egg has grown to become a small chain of breakfast and lunch eateries throughout Oklahoma City and Tulsa. At Jimmy's Egg, expect full coffee cups, delicious, colorfully named omelets and other breakfast dishes served throughout the day. Special omelets include the Heartburn, which boasts of cheese, chili beans and onions, and the Italian featuring mushrooms, spaghetti sauce and melted jack cheese. All omelets are accompanied by choice of hash browns, home fries, grits, sliced tomato, fresh fruit or cottage cheese, with either house-made bread, toast or biscuits and gravy. Other breakfast specialties include corned beef hash, chicken-fried steak, pancakes, French toast, Belgian waffles and the wonderfully named Jimmy's Garbage Breakfast (crispy hash browns topped with grilled onions, bell peppers and sausage with two eggs, toast or biscuits and gravy). The weekday lunch menu offers various burgers, chicken-fried steak, pork chops, soups, salads and sides such as green beans, fried okra, curly fries and cottage cheese.
