Chow Lafayette recognizes the cultural melting pot's effect on American cuisine by including Asian, French, Italian and Mexican flavors alongside menu classics such as burgers and seafood. Like any modern and socially dutiful California restaurant, produce and meats come from local suppliers, but classic diner Americana is revered with such touches as silverware contained in empty Hershey's cans at every table. Several inexpensive wines and beers are available along with interesting nonalcoholic drinks such as tangerine-lime cooler and raspberry lemonade. There are two other San Francisco Chow locations, but only Chow Lafayette has a retail section offering menu items to go plus local vegetables, meats, gourmet cheeses and wine. Serving breakfast Mon–Fri, lunch and dinner daily. Sat–Sun brunch 8 am–1 pm. Named one of the San Francisco Chronicle's Top 100 restaurants of 2008.
