An unassuming little corner mainstay of the Sylvan Park neighborhood and billed as Nashville oldest and only locally owned bagel shop, Star Bagel Cafe cranks out chewy, flavorful bagels with so much aplomb you'll think each one was created specifically for you. (Try the honey wheat, the cinnamon raisin swirl and the spinach herb.) The breakfast bagel of either ham or bacon with scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese is a great way to start the day. Other baked goods are offered, including substantial muffins, croissants, cinnamon rolls, cheesecake brownies, sour cream coffee cake and chocolate cookies. Deli-style bagel sandwiches (the recommended turkey fresco and chicken salad), hot and cold sandwiches on fresh-baked muffuletta buns (New York-style corned beef and Reuben, or classic BLT) and salads (the Strawberry Fields, with greens, sliced strawberries, pecans and feta cheese with a citrus cranberry vinaigrette, for example) take care of the lunch and early dinner crowd. No alcohol available. Serving breakfast, lunch and early dinner daily.
