There may be better ways to enjoy an afternoon or evening meal as you watch the Cumberland River lazily passing by, but we can't think of any better than the aptly named Riverview Restaurant & Marina. About a 30-minute drive northwest of Nashville in Ashland City, the Riverview has been around since the 1970s. Hearty eaters will find much to like here: all-you-can-eat whole fried catfish (the house specialty), an à la carte limitless salad bar, and all-you-can-eat Friday and Sunday lunch buffets featuring fried catfish and chicken and well-prepared Southern-style side items such as turnip greens and black-eyed peas. Reasonably priced steaks, burgers, pork chops and fried seafood also are offered. Riverboat cruises from a separate operating company depart from the restaurant's dock in season. Kids' and seniors' menus. Beer available. Serving lunch and dinner daily.
