With its stews, sauces and grilled meats and vegetables, well-prepared Turkish cuisine doesn’t take a backseat to American comfort food. Small wonder you’ll see tables of senior citizens dining alongside young families and couples at Anatolia in the well-heeled Lion’s Head Village retail center off White Bridge Road. The list of recommended specialties of the house can get lengthy but includes: Shepherd Salad (any of the salads are quite good), white beans soup, Turkish ravioli, chicken shish kabob, Turkish gyros, Anatolia eggplant, Anatolia roasted lamb and Turkish veggie stew. Good luck leaving room for dessert, which includes baklava, rice pudding and a specially ordered kunefe pastry. Turkish coffee, teas, yogurt drinks and juices are available, as is a short list of beers and wines. Serving lunch Mon–Sat, dinner nightly.
