From the restaurant's website:
"Tamarind Thai opened in July 2004, a collaboration between Vatcharin (Vatch) Bhumichitr, world-renowned chef and author, and his friend of 30 years, Day Longsomboon, head chef, both of whom are native Thai. The traditional recipes and cooking techniques employed in the preparation of your meal have been passed down through several generations in their families, some as far back as the 1930s. Goong Siam, Tamarind Duck, Spicy Beef with Eggplant and Duck Green Curry are just a few of the dishes you will not find in any other Thai restaurant in Miami."
Beer, wine and sake available. Serving lunch and dinner Tue–Sun. Closed Mon.
Zagat 2010: 23 food rating (very good to excellent)
The Miami Herald: *** (of 4)
"[The] food has the subtle balance of flavors, textures, and heat one would expect to find in London or Thailand, not in a relatively low-profile spot right around the corner.”
— Miami New Times
“A true international talent. …An extensive, authentic and reasonably priced menu that includes dishes seldom seen in South Florida. … Authentic, country-style Thai cuisine.”
— The Miami Herald
