Brother Juniper's College Inn is housed in a summery cottage just west of the University of Memphis campus and is where the majority of locals go to fill up on treats such as stovetop grits, house-made berry blintzes and frittatas. Juniper's biscuits (hearty, crusty combinations of white and whole-wheat flour that are best eaten piping hot) provide the perfect vehicle for scooping bacon and marmalade, grape jelly, or tangy honey into your hungry maw. But the best part might just be the omelet variety, with over 15 choices including some open-faced options, from the pesto-tomato omelet to the open-faced Hungry Tiger (home fries topped with bacon, ham, sausage, tomatoes, green onions and four different cheeses) to the perennially popular, plate-filling spanakopita omelet. No alcohol available. Serving breakfast and lunch Tue–Sun. Voted Best Breakfast in 2007 Memphis Flyer and 2008 Memphis magazine readers polls.
