The best thing about fat-free, sugar-free and taste-free products is that you won't find them at Sweet Lady Jane. While the rest of Hollywood obsesses over the latest dieting trends, calories don't seem to count, or at least no one's counting them, on the other side of the ivy-covered bay window inside Jane Lockhart's charming little European café and bakery. Here, life is about enjoying the moment – namely, a scrumptious slice of cappuccino cheesecake, peach-boysenberry pie or a decadent cream cheese puff – or perhaps just taking a moment to linger over a pastry and a cup of coffee at one of the sprinkling of tables within. When L.A.'s sweet-tooth fairy is not busy providing wedding cakes for the likes of Jennifer Lopez or Larry King, she's baking Thanksgiving pies for the lines out the door, seeking the freshest in-season fruits for her house-made tarts, and making sure Los Angeles receives its daily dose of sugar, one napoleon at a time. No alcohol available. Serving during breakfast, lunch and dinner hours Mon–Sat, lunch and early dinner hours Sun.

"It has a decidedly European flavor, and the cafe's homey atmosphere creates a soothing setting for the kind of essential respites (in the interest of our own mental health) busy Americans often pass up."
—Los Angeles Times
"This place is a treat. It may take a while to choose from the dizzying array of cakes, tarts, and other delectable treats, but it's hard to go wrong."
