Despite what you might expect from its Sunset Boulevard location and dazzling, palatial décor, Dar Maghreb is the perfect place to thumb your nose at dining decorum. Go ahead; eat with your hands as a belly dancer undulates beside you. At the outset of your meal, servers dressed in traditional Moroccan garb wash your hands. Then you plop down on a pillow and enjoy a sumptuous, seven-course feast at a leisurely pace: Dar Maghreb is great for group dining, but not the place to grab a quick bite. Traditional Moroccan offerings include marinated beef or shrimp brochettes, couscous with steamed vegetables, and braised lamb with honey and prunes. On weekends, you might find salmon with fresh coriander, or duck with honey and raisin sauce. Cleanse your palate with mint tea and Moroccan cookies. Live entertainment. Full bar. Serving dinner nightly.
