Metro Pizza, owned and operated by cousins John Arena Jr. and Sam Facchini, stands as a reverent tribute to Italian-American food and culture, winning local awards for best pizza since the first Metro Pizza opened in 1980. The restaurants are able to please a wide variety of tastes, serving both Chicago-style thick-crust and New York-style thin-crust pizza. Specialty pies include the New Haven (chopped clams and garlic), the Mott Street (sausage, peppers and onions) and the Milano (classic white pizza). An array of appetizers, pastas, salads and sandwiches round out the menu. If possible, save room for the New York-style cheesecake, cannoli or tiramisu. Beer and wine available. Serving lunch and dinner daily. Voted Best Pizza in the Review-Journal's 2008 readers poll.
