"Big Mama," the late Emma Sue McWhorter, a successful restaurateur for over 50 years, is the inspiration behind Big Mama’s Rib Shack and Soul Food eatery in Las Vegas, opened in 1992 by son Dargin McWhorter. The menu, led by the restaurant’s popular Killer BBQ sandwich, is composed of classic Southern dishes and Cajun specialties. Soul food dishes such as chitterlings, oxtails, ham hocks and fried chicken are available. Cajun and Creole favorites include spicy blackened catfish, red beans and rice, and seafood gumbo, with sides such as collared greens, black-eyed peas and fried okra. Try some peach cobbler, pecan pie or red velvet cake for dessert. Family-sized combination meals are offered. No alcohol available. Serving lunch and dinner daily.
