Housed in the wonderfully restored, circa-1915 Rieger Hotel in the Crossroads Arts District, 1924 Main has taken Kansas City's restaurant scene by storm since its 2004 opening. Talented chef/owner and Missouri native Rob Dalzell and his staff consult local farmers, ranchers and fishmongers to ensure that they receive only the freshest available ingredients for use in their contemporary cuisine. The "spontaneously seasonal" menu is limited, but offers no shortage of imaginative dishes. Dalzell tweaks the bargain-priced two-to-three-course offerings each month. Past entrée choices have included pan-seared halibut, braised short ribs with white beans, or cod in parchment with black mussels. Wine pairings available. Full bar. Serving lunch Tue–Fri, dinner Tue–Sat. Closed Sun–Mon.
