Former chefs at Wolfgang Puck's famed Los Angeles restaurant, for the past decade, Tim and Barbara Felver have owned and operated French Pantry, one of Jacksonville's most successful bakeries and sought-after lunch spots for business professionals. The 5,000-square-foot building houses a quaint café serving a weekday lunch only, with the remainder of the space devoted to a wholesale and retail bakery business that supplies French-style breads (baguettes, rye, wheat and focaccia), rolls and desserts to a number of area restaurants, hotels and country clubs. Best to visit the café not long after its 11 am opening, lest you be waiting in a very long line to order from the eclectic, daily changing menu that includes Tim Felver's takes on bruschetta, French dip sandwiches, muffulettas, crab cakes, pasta, and Thai chicken salad. (Barbara is in charge of the bakery side.) Reservations not accepted. No alcohol available. Serving lunch Mon–Fri. Closed Sat–Sun.
