Jacksonville restaurateurs Barbara Sutton and Karin Tucker's first foray has been a smashing success. An inviting, richly decorated American contemporary restaurant amid Avondale's upscale boutiques and shops, Biscottis attracts crowds with its lighter fare, such as the signature mozzarella bruschetta, gourmet pizzas and sandwiches. Dinner specialties may include paprika-dusted flounder or beef tenderloin over wasabi potato purée. The restaurant especially shines during its popular Saturday and Sunday brunches (8 am–3 pm), featuring a variety of omelets and breakfast pizzas on Saturday, and vanilla waffles with fresh berries or the breakfast burrito with smoked cheddar grits on Sunday.
