A bona fide smash hit since its fall 2003 opening in the trendy Massachusetts Avenue Arts District, Elements strips American contemporary, gourmet dining down to its essence. The small, deftly lighted space features red walls and sparkling white linens, and during the warmer months, its intimate patio remains one of the most treasured dining spots in Indianapolis. Talented chef/owner and Indiana University grad Greg Hardesty apprenticed in renowned West Coast kitchens (including San Francisco's Rubicon) before returning to the Midwest. He melds Asian, French and Mediterranean influences, with each daily menu reflecting his obvious joy in creating a handful of simple, elegantly prepared dishes from the day's fresh market. When available, try the Indiana tomato salad. Bottled beer and attractively priced wine available. Serving dinner Tue–Sat. Closed Sun–Mon.
