Haven't read anything good lately? Then come to Corner Wine Bar and open the menu. There are 21 – that's right, 21 – pages of wine selections and eight pages of beer offerings that should keep you turning pages for a while. Corner Wine takes imbibing seriously. The bar hosts monthly tastings with friendly themes such as "Rock Star Wines" and "Goin' Back To Cali." Register ahead of time for the special sampling of six to 10 wines, sort of an Oenophilia 101 course. If you just want to drink something delicious, servers are happy to make the decisions for you. The bar is a warm and cozy place to hang out, with its maroon walls, dark woodwork and glass-fronted wine cabinets. In warm weather, relax on the patio, and watch the world go by (in the Broad Ripple neighborhood, a good portion of the world seems to be in attendance). Owners John and Nancy Hill know that good wine tastes better with good food, and their menu doesn't disappoint. Servers help coordinate the drinking and dining: fresh fish ceviche / Sauvignon Blanc; mascarpone-and-fig-compote-filled phyllo / Gewürztraminer; pan-fried halibut / Pinot Noir ... there's a perfect choice for every dish. That's what a 21-page wine list and a stellar kitchen get you. Voted Best Wine Selection in 2007 Nuvo readers poll. Full bar. Serving lunch and dinner daily.
