Red Lion Pub seems always crowded, and for good reason: It's not only a convivial, British-style pub with an expansive array of whiskeys, well-chosen wines and draft beers served in properly-sized imperial pint glasses; it also offers excellent pub fare. Most menu items are British, but some are locally inspired, and all are several notches above typical bar food. Dishes are made to order with fresh ingredients – reputedly, there are no freezers or canned items on the premises. The Red Lion is often praised for its renditions of fish and chips, mini-burgers, and the amazingly hot beef vindaloo. Sundays feature authentic roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. The pub itself is quite attractive, roomy and filled with dark wood, with ample bar seating and upholstered octagonal booths. Full bar. Serving lunch Fri–Sun, dinner and late-night nightly.
