Just east of New Chinatown in an easily accessible location on the Southwest Freeway, Fung's Kitchen is a destination for serious, local Chinese-food fanatics. But with about 400 dishes, a number of items should appeal to the most casual Chinese-food fan as well. The emphasis is on Hong Kong-style seafood, made apparent by the several prominently displayed aquariums for live Dungeness crabs, Maine lobsters, clawless Pacific lobsters, and other live fish and shellfish from around the globe. In addition to the seafood, there are many beef, chicken and pork dishes prepared with panache. Fung's Kitchen might also have the best dim sum in town, served daily. Voted Best Chinese Restaurant in 2007 Houston Press critics poll. Beer and wine available. Serving lunch and dinner daily.
