Originally a part of the Canadian-owned chain, Hy's Steak House of Honolulu maintains the excellent reputation of its former keeper through commitment to superior service, a sophisticated atmosphere and superlative fare. In addition to the live guitar Wednesday through Saturday nights, there's plenty to entertain you at Hy's: Tuxedo-clad waiters prepare traditional tableside dishes (Caesar salad, Châteaubriand and flambéed desserts), while a bustling team of chefs tends to the Broiler Room's centerpiece, a custom-made brass and copper cauldron of burning Hawaiian kiawe wood. Though each dish, from the lamb chops to the scallops, is broiled with the grill's flavor, the house-specialty, "The Only," a secret-sauced, tender New York strip, is perhaps the paramount. Full bar.
