Still in its original location, Detroit's oldest Italian restaurant, Roma Cafe, began serving in 1890 the same recipes they do today. Italian hospitality is the norm here as knowledgeable, tuxedo-clad waiters accomodate patrons, sometimes giving regular visitors special treatment. Not surprisingly, the menu features traditional Italian dishes, including pastas, seafood, broiled steak and veal. After-dinner treats are held in high regard, especially tiramisu and cannoli, which can be paired with cappuccino and other Italian coffees. Don't miss the Monday night buffet. Free shuttle service to Detroit Red Wings hockey games. Voted Best Italian Restaurant in 2008 Metro Times readers' poll. Beer and wine available. Serving lunch and dinner Mon–Sat. Closed Sun.
