The Inn Season Cafe is located in a nondescript building with lace curtains and undecorated walls, but the 100 percent vegetarian dishes are nothing like the serene atmosphere. The menu includes salads, burritos, quesadillas, pizza, burgers, lasagna and stir-fry. Gourmet appetizers have included fried, sliced eggplant flavored with ginger, and soups such as gazpacho and white bean asparagus. The tofu salad or mesclun salads can be eaten as meals or as sides to one of Inn Season's open-faced sandwiches, made with organic whole-wheat bread loaded with vegetables and melted cheese or vegan soy cheese. Desserts are numerous enough to deserve their own menu and can include blueberry cobbler, hot fudge sundae, apple crisp, vegan chocolate cake, ice creams and sherbets, and the famed orange-almond cake. Specials change daily and can be heard by calling the restaurant's telephone number. Vegan, wheat-free and dairy-free options are available, and organic ingredients are used whenever possible.
