Yanni's Greek Taverna owner Yanni Stavropoulos strolls around his restaurant handing out shots of ouzo and calling out "Opa!" periodically. He has also been known to place a giant rotisserie grill out on the sidewalk and roast some garlic-scented lamb when the mood strikes. Add to that the excellent appetizers of stuffed grapes leaves, grilled octopus, well-melded tzatziki served with fresh pita bread and flaming brandied cheese – not to mention the kitchen's skills with moussaka and spanakopita – and it is easy to see why this is one of Denver's top Greek restaurants. The staff is so friendly, you'll feel like family in five minutes, and everyone is welcome. Save room for the baklava ice cream. Full bar. Serving lunch Mon–Sat, dinner nightly (until "very late").
