BEST HOT DOGS

When you need a hot dog and you need it fast, Mustard's Last Stand can help. Owned by Chicago-native Dan Polovin, both Denver and Boulder locations are fast and offer tasty Vienna Beef, Chicago-style dogs and sandwiches (go for the Italian beef), with an emphasis on condiments (good sauerkraut, great hot peppers). They also do burgers, Polish sausage, corn dogs, bratwurst, chicken and, for the meatless crowd, tempeh burgers, tofu Reubens and vegetarian chili. The fries are pretty super, too. Both sites get heavy traffic from the nearby colleges, so plan accordingly when school is in session and lines form out the door during lunch and dinner. There is no alcohol available at the Denver location, but the Boulder store serves beer. Serving lunch and dinner daily.
