Though renowned Denver restaurateur Benny Armas has owned many local Mexican eateries over the past several decades, Benny's Restaurante y Tequila Bar is the most beloved. It's a tradition for many who swing by for the menu's star – a stuffed-to-the-brim sirloin burrito – or any of the other solid Mexican and Tex-Mex fare (tacos, carnitas, enchiladas). Enjoy a margarita at the hopping bar or on the large, enclosed patio. Weekend brunch (9 am–2 pm) includes drink specials to accompany breakfast burritos, omelets, carnitas and eggs, and menudo (tripe and hominy), the Mexican specialty/acquired taste. Full bar. Serving lunch and dinner daily. Voted Best Free Chips and Salsa in 2008 Westword readers poll.
