When The 9th Door opened in Lower Downtown, this lushly decorated space quickly became a mecca for diners crazy for small-plate action. An extensive roster of by-the-glass wine options pair well with Mediterranean tapas, such as smoked salmon wrapped around chilled asparagus, pan-seared serrano ham topped with quince jam, and fire-roasted peppers stuffed with fresh goat cheese. Several dozen savory choices are followed by a handful of sweet ones; try the sorbet of the day. Reservations suggested. Full bar. Serving dinner Mon–Sat. Closed Sun.
