Dallas dining landmark Abacus has earned singular praise from local and national media alike, including a 2005 induction into the Fine Dining Hall of Fame (Nation's Restaurant News). From the sleek Knox-Henderson neighborhood establishment, chef/part-owner Kent Rathbun serves a seafood-dominated world-tour menu that proves to be less fusion cuisine and more of a side-by-side presentation of multicultural fare. Mediterranean, Cajun, Southwestern and Pacific Rim influences stand out. The signature lobster scallion shooters, served with red chile coconut sake, are the menu's most popular item. The eight- to 12-seat chef's table allows a peek into one of Dallas' first European-style theater kitchens and a sample of the chef's constantly evolving tasting menu. One of the Dallas Morning News's Top 100 Restaurants in 2007. Full bar. Serving dinner Mon–Sat. Closed Sun.
