Lebanese immigrant Fady Chamoun's fast-casual dine-in or takeout Aladdin's Eatery restaurant grew from one Cleveland-area mid-1990s converted submarine sandwich shop to a five-state chain featuring healthy, vegetarian-friendly Lebanese favorites such as hummus, falafel, baba ganoush, and toasted pita sandwiches and pizzas. Start with a bowl of lentil, roasted garlic or chicken lentil soup or an appetizer of chicken sambusek (charbroiled curry chicken, onions and peas stuffed in a pita). Side salads include falafel or fruit nut, or make a meal of a shish kebab salad. Rolled pita sandwiches come in tuna, ground sirloin, lamb or veggie varieties. Sumptuous desserts include a much-recommended baklava, various cakes such as white chocolate raspberry, or cheesecakes such as apple walnut. Milk smoothies, fresh-squeezed juices and teapots are among the beverage options. Beer and wine available, including Lebanese varieties. Kids menu. Serving lunch and dinner daily. Named Best Middle Eastern Restaurant in the 2008 Cleveland magazine Silver Spoon Awards, Northern Ohio Live's Best Restaurants 2007 list and in the 2007 Cleveland magazine readers poll.
