This Harvard Square tea shop opened in 1996 and followed up on its success by opening locations on Newbury Street and in Providence, Rhode Island. They don't serve coffee here, but up to 100 varieties of tea: It's the best tea party in town. The coffee shop vibe, though – one of clicking laptops, dreamy people-watching and catching up with friends – is palpable at this pretty shop. Staffed by tea experts who can recommend teas suited to your needs, Tealuxe goes beyond Earl Grey to offer varieties of white, green, breakfast teas, herbals, fruity teas, iced tea, bubble tea and house-made chai. And they serve food, as well. The light café menu features pressed sandwiches, scones and crumpets, and the Masala grilled chicken, made with a chai tea sauce, is one of the tastiest offerings. No alcohol available. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.
