Grab-and-go Mexican mini-chain Anna's Taqueria, founded in 1995 by a Japanese-American businessman, is best known for its quick service and cheap, tasty Mexican and Tex-Mex fast food. The super burrito is super cheap and big enough to feed a hungry student, twice. Anna’s started in Brookline’s Coolidge Corner, and soon after, several other locations, all close to student neighborhoods, opened up. Anna’s is also known for its savory carnitas, a shredded roast pork filling that many burrito joints don’t bother with. With Mexican sodas and drinks such as horchata (a milky, rice-based beverage) to complement their menu of tacos, quesadillas and burritos, Anna’s is close to authentic, while at the same time tasty, fast, cheap and easy. No alcohol available. Cash only. Serving lunch and dinner daily. Voted Best Mexican in the 2008 The Phoenix readers poll.
