To Hyde Park residents, the Hyde Park Bar & Grill is truly a neighborhood institution thanks to its vibrant atmosphere, stellar service and soothing comfort food. The neon green and yellow restaurant with the enormous fork out front has become so popular that a second location opened its doors in the Market-Westgate area. So what's the big deal about Hyde Park Bar & Grill? Just bite into one of their expertly prepared burgers or unique fries and you'll see what the fuss is all about. The Kobe burger is one of the best in town, teamed with the award-winning fries that are dipped in batter, fried and served with spicy mayo. Other local favorites include sweet corn and cheese tamales, fiery steamed dumplings, penne Florentine and chicken-fried steak. There's also an ample offering of lighter fare, such as a fabulous chicken salad and a tasty house salad with tamari vinaigrette. Desserts are as eclectic as the art-filled décor, including the enormously popular Won Kim peach pudding topped with a warm cream sauce. Brunch dishes are also a house specialty, from eggs prepared Florentine, Benedict or omelet-style, as well as traditional Tex-Mex scrambled egg dishes. This neighborhood spot packs a big crowd, but you can often find a seat at the hammered-copper bar. Kid's menu available. Serving lunch and dinner daily until midnight. Sat–Sun brunch 11 am–3 pm.
